Deacon & Trustee Ministry “Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.” Acts 6:1-6, I Timothy 3:8-13, and Titus 1:6-9 The deacon body shall serve under the leadership of the pastor and assist him in performing duties in order to free him for the ministry of the Word. The deacons will support and work with the pastor as follows: 1) to lead the church in the achievement of its mission, 2) to minister the gospel to believers and unbelievers 3) to care for the church's members and others in the community, 4) to have a consistent commitment to stewardship that shall be attested to by the deacon's example of tithing to the church, 5) to demonstrate Christ-like consecration, loyalty, prayer support and faithfulness to the local church program, 6) to visit the sick, needy and indifferent of the church 7) to encourage and strengthen new converts and the spiritually weak, 8) to attend deacons' meetings regularly, 9) to be available with his wife at worship services for assisting the pastor in receiving new members. Training sessions will be offered to acquaint everyone with the procedures to follow.
Finance Ministry “For God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things atall times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” Corinthians 9:7-8 This ministry is to act as financial consultant for the church body and make recommendations regarding investment funds and budgetary items, and give information and advice concerning disbursement of funds. Other duties include but are not limited to counting and recording all monies collected during worship services and at other large gatherings when an offering is collected
Kitchen Ministry “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.” Acts 2:46-47
The purpose and responsibility of this ministry is to provide service and assistance to the church family during fellowship dinners. Service includes planning of menus, preparation and set up of food and eating areas, and the coordination of the clean up staff after completion of meals or refreshments. Other duties include the purchase of kitchen supplies and utensils for use during gatherings.
Men's Ministry (Men With Purpose) " As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17 Twofold: 1) to foster spiritual growth for every man to begin their journey of finding their purpose in life and 2) to be an evangelistic ministry that ministers to the needs of the community. By integrating the purpose of each man within the purpose of the Men’s ministry as a whole, we’ll understand our purpose as one body in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit will be our source of spiritual empowerment and direction as the Men With Purpose ministry establishes its presence in the community as an evangelistic ministry. Prayer, faith, commitment and the spirit of love within our ministry will define the Men With Purpose as a ministry truly seeking its purpose. As such, each man will need to find his own purpose as he strives to walk by faith. It is from this spiritual faith walk that the Men With Purpose Ministry will find its divine purpose as a ministry of EGBC.
Missionary Ministry “He told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Luke 10:2
The purpose and responsibility of the missionary ministry is to address the spiritual and material needs of the church and the community. This ministry includes the men, women, and children of the Evans Grove Baptist Church family. Other duties include home visitation to the sick members of the church, visitation to residents in the local nursing homes and oversee of the church's food pantry and clothing closet.

Pastor's Aid "For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due." Romans 13:6-7a The purpose of the pastor's aid ministry is to provide moral, spiritual and financial support to the pastor and first lady. Planning and coordinating all activities associated with the Pastor’s Anniversary
Preforming Arts Mininstry “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: ... a time to mourn and a time to dance” (Ecclesiastes 3:1,4). A ministry geared to utilize the talents of Christians to spread the love of God through the means of theater arts. The Proforming Arts Mininstry set the direction and implement the arts to enhance the worship of God within the church and to further the gospel to the world outside the church.
Senior Ministry “For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will enjoy the works of their hands. They will not toil in vain or bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the LORD, they and their descendants with them.” Isaiah 65:22b The purpose and responsibility of the senior ministry is to focus on the needs and concerns of the seniors of the church and community, offering aid and assistance where requested or needed. Duties include planning recreational activities of interest to seniors, providing transportation to and from places when needed, and addressing other needs or concerns as they arise.
Usher Ministry "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." Psalms 84:10 The Ushers Ministry at Evans Grove Baptist Church have a love for people, a heart to serve others, a willingness to be faithful, and the ability to give and follow direction with an Attitude of Servanthood. They maintain an atmosphere in the sanctuary conducive to worship and teaching of the Word of God by first, arriving fifteen minutes before our service, to check to ensure that the church is clean before seating our guests. We make sure we have bulletins, tissues, fans and other tools to aid in the worship service. We lovingly greet and seat each guest as they arrive. We assist in the collection of the tithes and offerings, we are there to answer questions as well as give directions if needed. Finally, we patrol the church for any items which may be left behind after service, and pick up loose paper from floor and pews.
